Of 32 persons accused in the illegal money circulation scheme
alleged to have organised by Amway India Enterprises, 25 persons attended the
trial in the 3rd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court at
Nampally, here on Monday.
It may be recalled that following a complaint by an NGO Corporate
Frauds Watch, the Punjagutta police filed the criminal case which was later
transferred to the Telangana CID police. Subsequently, the CID investigated
into the criminal case against Amway India Enterprises. Telangana CID DSP
Ramnarasimha Reddy filed the charge sheet in the 3rd Additional Chief
Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Nampally and the accused were ordered to be present
before the magistrate on Monday.
However, five of the accused were not present and many of the
accused persons did not appoint advocates to argue their case.
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate instructed the advocates of the
persons who were not present to be present in the court by the next hearing.
The court restrained itself from issuing non-bailable warrants after the
advocates of the accused pleaded that their clients did not receive the
summons.
The case is adjourned to December 22 with the instructions that all
the accused should be present on that day.
